Had an idea the other night. My bucket has a tilt guage (wire that sticks out of shoot) to indicate when it is level or tilted down or up. Has anyone ever made a gauge that would tell if you were at grade, above grade, or below grade, and how much with a loader? I was thinking attaching something to one of the cylinders that raise the loader might work in the same fashion, but the length of travel of the gauge would have to be reduced somehow, maybe with a gear roller type reduction. Anyone done this already?

Tim,

Strange you should post this... I was working on clearing some rocks from one of my fields yesterday and I was thinking the same thing. The weekend after next I plan on kludging something together.... I will try to post my progress. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them.

I was thinking another rod and tube very much the same as the tilt. But also was thinking about a electrical gauge much the same as the trim indicator on an outboard motor.

Any input is welcome.

Gary,

For sure post step by steps of your project. If I think of anything I'll let you know. The elecritcal gauge might be a good idea. Or maybe just repeating the bucket tilt gauge. I'll have to look at my loader when I get home to get some ideas.
