I have been focusing on clearing the rear of my new construction house and planting the yard back there but got sick of looking at this weed patch out front today. Think clay baked dry in slabs filled with cobble stones, think thick stalk prairie grass the builder threw down to control erosion, think packed even harder driving the tractor over it 100 times. I rigged the new Landpride RTR1250 and had at it. Man that first pass liked to rattle my teeth out, slowed down the RPM's to 1800 and crawled, the LandPride spit softball size cobble stone left and right. Next few passes got easier. I wedged a big hunk of root in there at one point, could not dislodge it the tine had bit about half way through. Hmmm...lowered the tiller to the ground in neutral, backed up and it fell right out. Tossed it on my burn pile with some satisfaction and got on with the job. Pretty happy with the performance of the tiller and tractor.
