Hey everyone.

First, I am back home. I don't know if any of you travel for extended periods of time, but it is amazing how quick mother nature will make your plants grow if left alone, and more so, if you have fir trees, how quick they grow up.

This all said, I am onto PT project.

1st was I replaced the throttle cable. OK.. What a HUGE difference that made.

But now I am in a quandry. I believe the engine should run at a max of 2900 RPMs (will double check on this but if anyone wants to suggest I will take direction). Second, and more importantly. What is the proper idle of a Deutz. I think mine is sitting at around 1K right now.

Keep tuned, tomorrow is another big project that I will share with you.

Dear Carl,

According to my engine manual for the 2011 series engines here are the numbers;
Low idle is 900.
Unless something different is stamped on your engine, 2800rpm should be the max.

Sounds as if you are in the ball park.

All the best,
Peter

For the 1011 series engines the max RPM is 3000 and low idle is 900. My 3 cylinder 1011 engine was set up to run 3000 RPM at full throttle when I took delivery--I have confirmed the RPM with a laser tachometer.
