Had A1C test early Oct., 6.0. Has been 5.9-6.2 for almost 4 years. I am so thankful I could stop the daily insulin and metformin just by diet and exercise. Sticking to low carb and low sugar foods and walking 23-25 miles/wk keeps me off the meds.

My sons a1c went to 8.9 this last visit. Looking through the online notes dr just keeps saying the same thing over and over. Dose for every meal. Same basic things my son has quit doing for the most part. According to his tandem he averaging maybe 1 meal a day. And turned off his ciq so he was just getting back ground insulin and not having the pump automatically controlling insulin.
