Just now joined so I could comment on your adapter.Trying to check codes on 2015ish 3037h. Got a ELM code reader. The J1939/obd2 cable I purchased looked correct but will not insert into the round port on tractor. The center pin on the cable has a key on it but tractor port does not? Anyone know what cable I need?
I bought one of those on Ebay and ran into the squared key issue as well but simply used a slender new sharp long utility knife blade to shave off the key and then it plugged right in just fine. (A slender Exacto holder with blade will work fine too). But, unfortunately, when hooked to two different standard OBDD11 readers for the automotive industry, neither was able to locate the tractor. Perhaps you will have better luck.
The LS XR4040 I was working on actually belonged to one of the members who just passed away last week. I got it from being a dead tractor to starting and running fine but it repeatedly starts immediately and then runs about two seconds and then dies. I thought perhaps I would find a fault code that might give some indication of what to look for next. All fuses, all relays, fuel pump, and injector pump solenoid seem to test as good. Disconnected many of the harness cables, inspected, coated contacts using an aerosol type electrical cleaner/corrosion inhibitor and reconnected including those on the ECU in front of radiator with no resolution to the two second run and die issue. I have a copy of the service manual and have gone through it page by page having found minimal helpful information so far related to diagnosing issues related to the fuel system and fuel delivery/metering. Using the electrical schematics to trace wiring paths related to fuel system components is tedious.
Perhaps you or someone else will see this and have a suggestion.
Respectfully,
