Great forum! New guy here, lookin to buy a new 2630 w/ loader and backhoe. I checked the Build My Kubota to get a price, but my question is how much room do the dealers have to come down from that price? I have several dealers in the area and i don't want to leave money on the table...

Try the below site as it will only take a few minutes to contact and get a price from Brady. I saved a good sum of money even with the transportation cost. They are great people to do work with and there are lots of people on this forum that have done business with the Barlow's.

I agree with GOTCHA. I've bought 6 from them in the last 5 years, Doubt you'll beat their price and I believe they'll give you their price at first shot so you don't have to waste your or their time by trying to beat them down another $100. They may even give you a Kubota hat if you ask.:)

Barlows is good for a reference, but
Location, Location, Location
If your in Portland it'll be free to transport - Portland Kentucky that is, but if your in Portland Oregon it might be $2,500.

Your statement is true but not accurate when saying "good for a reference"

I'm in Arizona and hunted for a year to find a dealer that would offer me a decent price. I couldn't find one even looking and talking with dealers in all surrounding states (New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and all of Arizona). I stated I was a serious buyer not just shopping but that didn't seem to help.

I looked at Mahindra and Kubota. Mahindra has a dealer in my home town so service would have been easy. My closest Kubota dealer is 70 miles away. All the Mahindra dealers I spoke with were good guys and wanted to work with me but not many had the inventory for the TLB combo I wanted.

When I started looking a Kubota I hit a wall in my area and surrounding states. Most dealers were very difficult to work with and even in these bad times didn't seem the least bit interested in dealing, even on tractors that had been on their lot for a long long time.

I found Barlow Equipment here on TBN. Brady Barlow gave me the best price I could find including delivery from Kentucky to Arizona. To cut down on the cost of delivery I had to wait until they had a load coming my way but that didn't bother me at all. He will ship it direct if you want to pay the extra but I wasn't in a hurry so I waited.

Brady worked with me as I tried to make up my mind on a final choice (7800, 2920 or 3200). My B3200 with FEL, Backhoe, Thumb, Ballast Box, Loaded tires.. etc, will be here the end of this week or first of the next.

Dam, thanks for reminding me about the darn hat as I didn't get one with my purchase. I'm going to have to call Brady or send an e-mail and see how one can get his very own hat.

I'm not sure your throwing numbers out (extremely large numbers) from personal experience. Not sure where you would come up with a hugh number like that but I'm sure you didn't get it from Barlows. I think they are advertising free delivery up to so many miles then I believe they have a reasonable delivery fee for other distances. Your not a dealer trying to muddy the waters are you? I've been to car dealers that say their competitors products are "good if they'll start" which is sort of a put down about the competitor. I think they have a toll free phone number so if your interested in buying just call and don't let the nay sayers cause you to lose money. I do want people to buy from them so they'll stay in business so I can buy more tractors at great prices from them and get more Kubota hats. Would that be considered a "personal interest"? If so, I have a personal interest in their staying in business.

I bought my tractor from Brady also. Back to topic I think most people expect somewhere around 20 percent less than the build your own Kubota price. But there are alot of variables that can screw that up.

NO - I respect Barlows and might end up getting one from them.
Right now they offer 500miles FREE delivery.
The point I was attempting to get across is that so many peeps post "I want X, Y, and Z" but never say they are even on the continent.
Barlow posts that his delivery charges might be about $1/mile. From their website:
1) What will you charge to deliver to me?
We do offer delivery. These amounts can vary depending on our schedule and if we are going to already have a truck in your area. Typically, rates will be around $1.00 per mile but may be less. You can e-mail us for an exact quote.

That's where I came "up with a hugh number".

I here what you're saying and I was told the same thing, but when it was time to turn over the check for my purchase on delivery it was A LOT less as he had 2 other tractor deliveries within 25 miles of my location making mine and the other 2 delivery charges a very nice surprise.

I thought that Barlows only had the 500 mile delivery on used equipement??

Try uship.com to get quotes on shipping your tractors.I have used it many times when buying equipment from several states and have had great luck in both pricing and with great guys doing the delivery.all you have to do is list what is being shipped and from where to where and the bids will flow in.

I think Barlows is running a special right now free delivery for 500 miles. I'm pretty sure they will go further someone on here bought one in Arizona and had it delivered. Plus you save sales tax so for me delivery was a wash.

From their webpage
25th Anniversary Special
Free 500 Mile Delivery on Used Tractors
I read that as free up to 500 miles only on used.
Anything else (new, 501 miles to infinity and beyond, etc.) you might be subject to pay for.

If you want immediate delivery that costs more on Amazon and almost every where. I stopped at Barlows yesterday and bought a B3200 from them. Steve said they sent a truck with 4 tractors to Northeast Tuesday evening at 6PM and one had already been dropped off in Maryland and driver was on his way further north from there. My understanding is the charge for delivery would be spread out between the 4 which would only be a few hundred dollars each. Guess there are 4 more new Kubota owners in the northeast today. Even at $1 a mile from Ky to Va that won't be $2500 unless someone got really lost.

Look - I rounded the distance from Barlows to Portland Oregon to 2,500 - actually 2,442 per Google. Nowhere did I say to Virginia, Delaware, Cuba, Puerto Rico or Spain.

Part of my job involves shipping HMMV's with shelters to those few places the US Army goes. They don't ship cheap.

Part of my interest involves VW Jetta TDI Sportwagens. They can usually be shipped from PA to CA for about $800 or less.

I'm glad Barlow can make such great deals, but there are tradeoff's for having a local dealer for support.

Your right newbury. I don't think everyone has "good" local dealer support. If you do as I do, which is Barlows, which also has good sale prices, then buy local. If your local dealer will not give you good prices to go along with that good dealer support then check prices from other dealers and decide how much you want to pay extra for that good dealer support that they should provide anyway since that's where alot of their income comes from. The bottom line is the difference. Doesn't matter the cost of shipping or state taxes. It's the bottom line that I look at. If you have to pay for a dealer quote then just buy whatever a dealer prices you but when it's as simple as a free phone call or a simple email then why not try it? You aren't even looking them in the eye to feel bad if you don't buy from them. They are shipping tractors to almost every state so they must be doing something right. My point was you throwing that $2500 number out would cause some people to not even check to see that figure does not apply in their case. I actually believe it rarely would be that much.

I purchased from Brady and have had fantastic service from my local dealer that is 6 miles down the road. I guess that puts me to be one of the lucky ones. I would do it all over again, and again with Brady.
