Alright got everything done and the mower going, now the question is what rpm should I be running?
The cutter is a pain to get off and on the tractor,I may have said a few curse words getting it off....

Well good deal and run the cutter at the 540 pto rated rpm ... should be a mark on the tack at somewhere around 2500 rpm's

In time with practice it will get easier ... the first few on and off's I used french that a sailer had not ever heard. Now that I've learned my cutter and the mounting tricks its fairly simple.

The hardest for me is neither one of the tractors can you turn the pto stub with your hands ... you have to turn the cutter pto shaft and thats a pain ... my grandson usually turns the cutter disc by hand until the splines line up. Of course this is with the tractor shut down.

My favorite part of the hay is the cutting ... I love to see that tall hay get cut down.

Side note ... yesterday a turkey hen flew up. I mashed the brakes and stopped about 2' from the nest ... we cut around it and left the grass. This afternoon we checked and she was in the nest.

I pallet all my rounds in the barn...hate to see any go to waste...too much darn work.

You have to be very careful. In the winter the pallets will freeze to the ground. If you drive over them, not only do they shatter, but the embed nails in your tractor tires.........not good.

sounds like your hay season is off to a good start.east tx have you ever thought of putting the cutter on a caddy so itll be easier to hook an unhook.
