We square baled today ... the bermuda was so thick using the V-rake even when we raked only half of its ability and just put 1 an 1/2 cutter swaths together the windrow was still so big to feed into the square baler ... set the back of the rake as narrow as possible just so it wouldn't plug and man it was something ... Am going to rake again and capture what was missed ... all the equipment worked well ... also rolled some of the junk grass around the pond ... cow hay didn't want it mixed in with the bermuda....enjoy.

OOPS ... almost forgot .... Don't know if we had enough HP on the 336 sq baler!!!!!!!!

Just slightly under powered. If it would have jammed you would not have had quite enough power to sling the broken parts out of the field. A few more horses and you would not have had to worry about getting any of the 336 cought up in the new baler next time in the field.

Nice looking hay by the way. We are probably gonna try to cut the second cutting next week and bale on the weekend. Tat way we don't have to store the square bales until folks can get a day off to come get them. Selling them straight out of the field is a lot less hassle.

I see you remembered your camera today. Great shots, you have a nice place there. I like your green equipment too.

Your right ... if the 336 would have come apart we could have gathered it up with the round baler .. throw a little net wrap on it and head to the scrap yard. Its next to impossible to get folks to come and get the hay in the field ... they say they are on the way and don't come.

Did you get any shots of your grapple pick up in action?

We bale squares for our horses and whoever is in the field with a truck and trailer. "On the way" don't cut it. If they aint there we roll it. They can either get it next time or from somewhere else.

We would not even bother with it at all if it were not for a few in the family, including myself, with horses. We are not trying to sell nearly the hay it seems you are. We probably sell about 1500 squares a year and whatever surplus rounds there are.

Blueriver:That looks like the tractor(one pulling square baler) my old hay guy pulled rake/5x6 baler combo with. 6cyl? He said that his 6cyl.pulled and got better fuel mileage compared to his 2 other newer JD's with 4cyl. on his cutting tractors. Its Nice but were is the new DEERE hiding out at? My father took my cutter off tractor when he was done with pasture in front of his house and he came to me just a cursing about it,the next day:laughing:
