ok. Let us know how you make out. I can get you a tank and mounting grommets if push comes to shove and have it sent to your dealer or directly to you..
Price quoted is $323 w pump and grommets and is a warranty item if tank has not been compromised with something like underbrush or branch contact.

Your dealer should have the same access.
I asked my dealer if there is an inherent problem w these gas tanks and he stated he has never heard of any and of the 10 Tym sourced tractors he has sold in the last two years such as your model run, not one has been brought back for this.

Not following your post...the original tank is gravity feed and located at the rear of the tractor. The tank and pump you mention; is that a tank which does not mount on the rear of the tractor? I have a 2645 cab model.

Thanks,

Chris

Why would you have to modify a new tractor? If you install the new tank, and it cracks in the future, are they going to warranty it? Let them put it is, keep all paper work and time lost for use. If you install it or modify it, and it catches fire, who will have to pay for it? If I buy a new truck with warranty, they will fix it or get it back. There are a lot of tractor brands.

Totally get what your saying however to prevent future issues (leaking diesel fuel) I believe the mount needs to be modified to a strap type rather than a bolt style. If I want to use the tractor for any amount of time, without diesel fuel leaks, a modification is probably in order. It痴 a faulty design and to my knowledge has yet to be addressed by Mahindra. I could try to use the new tank as designed however trying to get a Judge to award losses based on a usability claim, if it does leak (from what I致e seen it will), will be zero to impossible. I壇 like to keep the tractor but if this draws out the dealership will eventually get it back.

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks,

Chris

I put in "fuel tank" for your 2645 which should be a shuttle/cab correct? This is what it shot out. I am unsure of what they are calling a "pump" but w/o the "pump" the tank was 10 bucks less . A real pump would be in the hundreds.

That's really odd - could the pump be the float / sending unit? There's no pump in the tank. From what I was told (from two dealers) the tanks are currently not available and there's no ETA.

ok. I'll triple check into it from this end.
I couldn't tell you what they consider "the pump". Could be a translation issue.

So the "pump" indeed ends up being a "sending unit". My guy has put in an order to establish an eta for the item.
Item will need to be drop shipped at additional cost.
Hoping you or your dealer is closer to Houston than we are in Conn.
The last step would be to prove it's a warranty issue and your dealer will bear the cost as result.

I will let you know if item has become available.

So a quick update...the dealership has not provided an update. Trying to get a hold of the person handling this case, within the parts department, seems quite elusive to say the least. I’ve sent an email to the owner and am awaiting an update. The saga continues for the time being...

Seems like they may be playing the waiting game.
They will simply wait, hoping that you will disappear!

That won’t happen as I intend on pursuing one of two options (which either makes the most sense); getting this fixed (if it can be fixed permanently) or 100% buy back. To make matters worse; the lack of communication from the dealership regarding this issue and the additional parts owed. I should have walked away during the delivery process due to the overall experience however I exercise patience most of the time and try to give the benefit of the doubt. If there’s little to no movement, over the next two weeks, I’ll start to put together a team of professionals to determine next steps (as a business owner myself, I believe I know my options and have friends who specialize in this area). There are next steps...may not be the most desirable route (for the selling dealer or the manufacture), may take longer than one would like and possibly have front end loaded cost but that’s simply the system. This wouldn’t be my first encounter in using the system however one would hope a mutual agreement is arrived between the parties to prevent such action from occurring. I’ll keep this post updated...

Thanks,

Chris

let me ask a question here. If the item is back ordered as stated, your dealership still needs to actually put in an order to get in a queue for shipping. Do you know if they did that?
