The KM 131 has the edger attached with a guard. The trimmer head attachment for the KM131 has the guard in place. You cant tell in pic but the FS110 has no guard and has a saw blade on it.

We have slugs here, getting sprayed with slug guts is not fun, the guard stays on as well as rain pants and a full face shield.

I will take it off. Trimmers without a big guard make it more efficient. And I can see how it is trimming as well as I can also use it as an edger.

If an eye gets lost it may occur to these folks why the guard is there in the first place.

Living with only one eye is no picnic, as my wife can attest too for the past 40 years.

Wow, thats terrible about your wife's eye! Too many times I'm a safety third kind of guy, but one time I did get wacked in the eye with flying debris, so a big no thanks to that again!
