Bwhahahaha .. just ran the config tool on ford.ca. A 3/4, XT trim, extended cab, 4x4, with the PS, auto (manual N/A) is $44,699:laughing: PS is $9950:thumbdown:

Why the durability of an industrial engine ? people that buy diesel for bragging rights, dont want a 4 cylinder, they would prefer the sound of a cheaper automotive style V8 while driving a less durable engine than the industrial inline 6....

Not me.

I want a noisy, rattling, durable, engine.

I think that was about the cheapest F-250 on cars.com:laughing:

You can't get a manual trans in a Ford truck in the states. I know you can get a manual trans in a 6.2 Superduty in other countries.

I got a Golf TDI for the same reason, well almost..., as your motorcycle.

diesels are more expensive than gas engines in the first place more expensive parts injection pumps turbo's. Now add in DEF and DEF your adding significant cost. Which is why Tier 3 to Tier 4 diesels went up over $1000 in price on most models. Plus you have to factor in the development and integration cost over a much smaller volume. It's a safe bet it will be more than $999

There are 3 or 4 Colorado's running around here. I don't think any of them are a diesel. It is pretty cool seeing the test vehicles. Most people do not realize what they are.

I wonder if the Colorado is being groomed for the Chinese and Indonesia markets. GM is pushing it's vehicles hard in Asian countries and I'm wondering if full sized pickups are too big.

I think the tire pressure monitor is required by the gov now on all new vehicles.

daugen - you heard what Nissan will try to price Cummins 5.0L V8 at in the Frontier next year? still haven't heard mileage estimate. 500 ft-lbs peak torque

Just had lunch with the #4 guy at Cummins yesterday. Picked him up in my Titan. They are very excited about the 5.0 going into the Nissan. He is getting one of the first 100.

By the way, he currently drives a Tundra.

I've been curious why Nissan spec'd/Cummins built a V8 diesel. Cummins has a huge installed base of commercial/industrial/marine inline four cylinder engines, and then move into inline sixes. Why the complexity of a V8?

The large combustion chamber engines have trouble meeting the emissions without more bolt ons. Same reason the big block gas motors are dead.
