If eliminating lead and sulfur was done to eliminate brain damage in children, why have we so many brain dead, stupid and dysfunctional children? I vote we put the lead back in and put kids back into the future work force.

Could be because they were conceived and given birth too by stupid and dysfunctional adults who never were in the work force.

My 4020 sounded like it has a miss when the lift pump was going bad. It idled rough and didn't have the power when it was called on.

ULSD (the fuel you get now) is very hard on injector pintles on older engines that were designed to run diesel with a higher sulfur content (which is why I recommend a diesel additive like Caterpillar Additive. It provides the lubrication that ULSD lacks. ULSD is also hard on mechanical pumps. Blame it on the tree huggers.

Sounds to me like you dropped an injector pintle.

New fuel, fuel additive, and the problem went away after most of the tank was used up.
