Diesel fuel additive

   / Diesel fuel additive #21
Here is an interesting study:
Lubricity Additive Study Results - Diesel Place
I would like to find a source of the Opti-Lube XPD.... or even better, B2 or higher.

The problem is that I don't use the tractor enough to clear the summer diesel before the winter sets in (seeing as I keep it topped up and 10 gallons on standby). So an anti-gel will be needed.

Local farmers also have the problem of filling their 275+ diesel tanks, and having the supplier fill them with summer just before winter (which is better than letting the tanks go nearly dry and then having to convince the supplier to maybe sometime *please* deliver, meanwhile humping 5 gallon cans around...) Most get clear diesel so they can use the stuff in their road trucks, not enough volume to have separate tanks.

BTW, the local Easter Bunny here is safe, she has a biker gang of leprechauns for protection!

I used to think additives were just a ripoff, till the filter on my ASV RC30 gummed up on the coldest day of the year last winter. I had been using heating oil out of an old rental house, and must have sucked up some water, too! Diesel 911 is the stuff, if you know you have water in fuel, or use the stuff in the white jug, if you are into prevention. Both are made by the same mfg, and are available at better auto parts stores, like bumper to bumper. Tractor supply co sells it, but only when you don't need it!
