Hello,

B7200HST was getting fuel in the oil and the delivery pump diaphram seemed to be a likely cause. I replaced the complete pump with a new one and it didn't help. It runs like it did 17 years ago, so I don't suspect the injectors.

Do I have to buy a new injection pump ($5-600) because a 10 cent oring or 80 cent seal is bad?

Changing the oil real often is getting expensive too.

Thanks in advance,

David

Are you sure that it is diesel and not hydraulic fluid? The seal on the hyd pump can go out and can fill the crank case with hyd fluid. I just wanted to give you something else to think about.

Thanks JD,

It was low on hydraulic oil.
Removing the hydraulic pump was no fun.

I replaced the seal. The seal I removed and the shaft looked ok.

I ran it for 10 hrs and the dip stick has oil 3" up (way over full) again. It's also low on hydraulic oil again. What's causing this and how do I stop it?

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes just replacing the seal on the Hyd pump wont always solve the problem. The problem may be in the hyd pump itself. When worn they wiil push the fluid past the seal no matter what. Many times it's obvious when you remove the pump and look at the seal, the lip will be blown out, other times it's less noticeable and the pump requires disassembly to get more clues.
