cowboydoc, how do your air vents prevent moisture from getting in? I am talking about the moisture in the air (humidity).

This is a standard oil tank vent with screen, gage, and vent alarm combination. It won't do a thing to prevent the oil tank from breathing and inhaling moisture laden air.

Where would you get a vent/guage like that?

I got mine from Famous Supply of Akron but I'm also confident the TSC would have them.

1*I also have plenty of room in my unheated pole barn for a steel tank
I have an idea of placing the tank in my basement area since it is heated
2* is home heating oil the same as off road diesel?

///////////
1* I don't like the idea of storing flammable liquids in side of any building much less a heated one.
2*It is here.

How do you make on road diesel? ~~ Take clear diesel and add highway tax to It.

How do you make off road diesel? ~~ Take clear diesel and add red dye to it.

How do you make Fuel Oil or home heating oil? ~~ Take Clear diesel dump it in your tank and burn it in your furnace / or Take Clear diesel dye it red dump it in your tank and burn it in your furnace.

Dealers around here, don't charge extra, but they do have a minimum delivery amount. )
In my neck of the woods the minimum delivery amount is 150 Gallons but there is no minimum purchase amount.

( Jerry this 275 gallon tank will be inside my pole barn and I don't want the 2000 pounds of fuel high enough off the concrete that it would take to fuel my TC-40D. I would rather keep the tank low on the deck and add the electric pump. In my case it's just a personal preference. )

In my case it's a lot simpler to simply roll the tank right off the tail gate onto the shelf than it would be to hoist it up high enough to work for a gravity feed.

( If you break off the fitting on the bottom of the tank, there is no stopping the oil from emptying from the tank.
That makes sense. I'll still take my overhead and not mess with a pump any day. ) How do you get the tank down out of there to fill it then put it back up there after it's full ? ?
