I buy 50 pound bags of grass seed at TSC for 33 dollars. That's much cheaper than it was when Quality Farm & Fleet was around... only 66 cents a pound!

)
==========
Wonder if I can take it back and exchange it for the 50 pound bag?

I finally loaded my bulk tank and carried it to the jobber for filling. 175 gallons farm diesel at $2.09.
I've been postponing this since last year when diesel was approaching $2 per gallon hoping the prices would drop.

Diesel fuel went up around .20 in about a day. I bought 300 gallons at 2.399 a few days ago and feel like I got away with something.

Diesel went from around low 2.40's to around 2.60 in about a day or so. It was cheaper than regular unleaded for a couple of days before the price spike. Regular unleaded and diesel a within a few cents right now.

( has everyone thought about off road fuel? it's somewhere arround $2.00 a gal. and it is the same fuel that you get at the pump, for $2.50 and up. it just has red die put into it. I run it in my pick often. )

Where do you get off road fuel there in Belmont County?
I can't find it anywhere here in Washington County?

How far are you from St.Clairsville?

1* the fuel is rarely taken care of like the regulated(taxed) version, and it may contain more than you bargain for(water,algae,kerosene,gasoline,etc.
=================
1* Please explaine how putting red dye in diesel fuel causes all of these changes to it.

Huh?
Sorry, I think you misunderstood me....

The dye doesnt cause the issues, the care/treatment of the fuel does. It isnt as high a volume fuel as on-road fuel, so it tends to sit in the tanks longer. If you have a high volume source, it's probably not an issue at all, concidering the vender is trustworthy. The longer any diesel fuel sits, it tends to separate and absorb moisture. As it separates, you get globs of asphaultine that will clog your filters and starve the fuel system. The moisture will allow algae to grow. Either scenerio is bad. I have heard recomendations from the oil companies that you dont use fuel that has been pumped into an open container more than 6wks prior to use. This may be exaggerated of course to make you buy more, but I do encourage you to do your own test. Fill a soda bottle half way with diesel and leave it open and in the shop, on the porch or somewhere other than a controlled environment, see what happens.
