Diesel prices in your area?

Why? Are the taxes that much,? No refinery's ? I don't understand why you guys have to pay over twice what we are paying down here.

Our crude gets shipped to the 'states to be refined and then the gas/diesel is shipped back and then we are held over the barrel and the taxes are stuck *you know where*. They (the goobermint) calls it a road use tax, both Federal and provincial. On top of that is the famous Gouge & Screw Tax.
I don't know why the Federal Goobermint calls it a road use tax when in fact they don't own any roads. The Trans Canada Highway is Provincially owned and maintained.
Don't forget there is 40% exchange on the Canuck buck. Our buck is worth 60 cents US.

Ontario 24.7¢ (18.3¢) 34.356¢ GST + PST
The 34.356 is the road use tax. Now lets assume you buy gas for your boat and argue that you don't drive it on the road.....No problem, you don't pay road use tax, instead you pay 'recreational tax' instead.

Almost fainted today. I am in San Diego on business. Glad I don't live here. Diesel is $3.29, unleaded $2.59.
