Diesel prices?

$3.51.9 here in Alaska today at the pump - 1/17/09. (Yah, this is the place that pumps nearly 25% of the nation's oil everyday..) What's that line that economists like to throw around --- "supply and demand" --- yep, that's the one..

Off-road is $2.07. I'm working on welding up a stand for a 500 gallon tank right now - before it jumps up again.

Unleaded is 2.51.9 a gallon at the pump.

We are headed into a fuel induced recession . The oil companies keep screwing down the clamp they have on us one thread a day . They are watching our reaction , we have not crumbled yet and we are still able to buy a flat screen TV so they will give it another turn tomorrow . When we do faulter , that will prompt them to back it off a quarter turn and that's were it will stay .

How correct you were on this post at the peak of fuel prices. I think there other factors involved such as our presence in Iraq and Afganastan. The Saudis and OPEC sway the market and influence even if they dont control it entirely. The big oil companies win either way and we lose.

How long will 500 gallons last you?

I bought 200 gallons in October - off road - $3.82/gallon. Lasted til mid December. But, I used 90-100 gallons in a Komatsu excavator. So.... that 500 gallons might make it 6 months or so.

I'm still burnin' and burying the bermed up trees on the 2 1/2 acres I cleared and (at my rate of gettin' things done) I'm hopin' to get things planted by August. So, that fuel might not last quite that long!

Hello guys, I am in middle TN and purchased fuel at Home Depot for $1.979. If you carry a HD Rewards Card you can take .03 off that. Regular gas is selling for $1.549 up from $1.259 a couple of weeks ago. Where I am located we have a new Home Depot about 1/2 mile from Walmart that put in a Murphy Fuel Store. Their prices are the same and beat everbody else by about $0.20.
Offroad diesel was $1.729 two weeks ago. I check with my distributor every Monday to check on the price of offroad.

$2.21 up from 2.08 about a week ago.

We'll I called in a order two weeks ago, fuel went up .15 last week. My delivery guy only raised my price .02. House is topped off for next winter and filled up the bulk diesel tank at $1.67 a gallon with #2. I'm good until next winter now.

Was the #1 & #2 both $1.67 ?
That's a good price .
When I got my BX23 back in Nov 2004 diesel was about I.75
That's the lowest it's been here since I got the tractor.

I just got #2 delivered, getting ready for summer work now, I've got the house tank in the basement where I can use #2 for heating and the temp is steady year round.

My local guys are great up here, I'm not a big client like the farmers using large amounts of fuel but they give me the same breaks because I get all my Diesel, Gas and starting this summer I'll own my propane tanks and will get that from them also.
