What are the differences between the L series and M series tractors? Are M series more robust? Are M's more of an AG than L?

"M" are stronger all the way round. PTO,frame, lift capacity etc.

Kubota Tractor Corporation - M Series - Utility/Ag Tractors and Specialty/Ag Tractors

Just guessing here, but your question about a mid PTO suggests you are thinking Mid Mount Mower deck? The M isn't really pointed toward mowing with a belly mower. Additionally, the size and weight of this rather LARGE machine would make a surreal sight on anybody's lawn, even the lawn the size of the White House. Kinda like taking an 18 wheeler over to the mall to pick up your wife's shopping bags. :)

Have you ever stopped by a Kubota dealer and just sort of looked around? You might want to visually appreciate the size differences between a B, an L and an M. It's fairly dramatic. Just sayin.

I went from a B to an L which was significant. I think a similar jump would happen when going from an L to an M. I agree with bp, ten minutes walking around a big dealer lot will answer more questions than all the posts you'll get here. Once you find your niche, talk to a salesman. After you've educated your self and still have questions, come on here and ask Messick's, they are a great source of detailed answers.

all good advice. I would think your intended use and how much money you want to spend would impact your decision also. I have a an L series and for my needs 100-200 hours a year hauling cut wood, digging occasional hole, clearing snow, cleaning corral, lifting misc things as needed, etc. it works fine for me. Also I live in heavy trees and the size works well negotiating the thick trees in places

The "M" series also is not available with the hydrostatic transmission, if that is important to you.

My use is heavy wood hauling, lifting heavy logs and heavy snow removal. I life in far norther michigan, annual snow here is easily 200 plus inches per year.

Well, if you are below the bridge, I would highly suggest you stop by Ginop Sales. They have three locations, Williamsburg (Torch Lake), Alanson, and I forget the third, oh yeah, Hillman. Great folks. Honest as the day is long. If you go to Williamsburg, ask to speak to John. Tell him Fred sent ya! :)
