Traction Differential lock

No laughing here either. Once spent the best part of an afternoon trying to figure out why the inside hood release on our 4x4 had suddenly stopped working, and figuring out some other non-destructive way to get the hood open. Only hours later and after removing the grille did I notice the gas filler door at the back was ajar because I'd been pulling on the wrong handle all afternoon. So much for the wisdom acquired with advancing age.

I hear ya...
Whats the definition of insanity??
"Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result"

I think I've made the first step in fitting that definition

I'm right behind you on the whole subject. Although I've owned the Crown Vic since 1999 and the SuperDuty that long, I still pop the hood when I want to release the brake.......now and then. And the Vic has an automatic brake release at that.:confused3:

Maybe that's why some (old) folks step on the gas and drive thru a Mall window.........when they just wanted to step on the brake.
Cheers,
Mike

Oh ya. that was good.

:)

Be it with my friends, or the guys at work (fire crew - we spend 24hrs together on a shift -lots of time to do/say something stupid and then pay for it! lol.) there's nothing like having a chance to have a good natured laugh/ribbing at some one else's expense. Might as well because you know today it was their turn, tomorrow it's likely to be your turn! Lol.

Right, carry on folks, keep the laughs coming. We should change this thread title to: "Today's brain fart moment"

:)

E.

**Edit** Wow - apparently the word "D a m n" is a no-no to use. My apologies. Lol. (Insert that naughty word where the 4 *'s are in the first sentence.)
Right, as you were.

:)

Laughter makes the world go round.
I've always held to the notion that if I can't laugh at myself, I'd better not laugh at anyone else. Every time I walk by my tractor I can't help but laughing and thinking you "Dumb A**"

I'm trying to blame my honest mistake on the fact that they put the DL decal closer to the brake lever then the DL pedal...... and that's where I went astray.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!:D

Yeah, I've taken those stupid pills. Some say I never stopped taking them. By way of example:

Last Winter, we had some really warm & rainy weather; then the front passed through the temp dropped to nearly 0 [deg F] & everything froze up solid. Almost the exact same thing had happened a few years earlier and my car doors were so frozen shut that I had to wait for the Sun to thaw them out before I could separate the doors from the body. So last Winter I'm dreading this same thing. I'm a little late for work & try the door. No luck. There wasn't a hint of Sun to I spent the next hour banging on the doors (all 4 of them) just hoping to knock one loose - even managed to put a dent in one. Then I accidentally bumped into one of the mirrors, which pushed a button on the key fob remote in my coat pocket, and heard the car go ka-thunk. Doh! I was trying to open locked doors all that time.

I never said I wouldn't laugh !

If I can laugh at myself, and I do, with a red face usually, I guess I can give a little chuckle to someone else's mistake.

I remember one time I drove to the commuter parking area to get my bus ride to the city to go to work...nasty weather.

I got back to the parking area after a day of a wet, freezing northeast storm and the driver's side door lock of my car was frozen and I couldn't turn my key. It had been soaked by a freezing rain all day. Fortunately, the passenger side door was shielded from the winds and freezing rain and I could open it ok.

Determined never to have to chance getting frozen out, I bought a small spray can of lock de-icer.

The next storm, I was in the same situation, frozen out and I said no problem, I'm good, until I realized I had put the de-icer in my glove compartment so I'd have it when I needed it.

IDIOT !!!!

   So I can laugh at myself, and the OP !

Just one of many stupid things I've done in 70 years. If you've never done something stupid, you've never been born.
