Thought you guys might like to see my task... Digging out 15+ years of slop from the Barn. My wife and I bought this place last year and I am finally getting around to cleaning out my big red barn. It looks like the people that lived here before never understood what it meant to keep a barn clean. I sort of feel sorry for any and all animals that lived inside... Yuck... If any one needs manure (LOTS OF IT), let me know... :D

The pile is EVEN bigger now...

Is that a concrete floor?

Perhaps this was the previous owners phd project? :D :D :D

BTW its not uncommon to let 'things' collect to a point thru the winter, top dressed at intervals w/ clean shavings or whatever youre using for litter. Its called the deep litter method (at least thats what Ive heard it called) and the decomposition produces some warmth. When the weather warms though it should be removed to the base.

Max,

That looks like one huge pile of BS. With a tractor like yours you'll find it invaluable at helping you out. Could you imagine doing that job by hand? You would still be getting started!

No doubt! I couldn't even think about doing this by hand... It would be... aweful, I couldn't even imagine it. You guys are right though with the top dressing and such... The people that owned this place before were just plain LAZY...

....So.... No takers on the poo pile, come on, I'll load it up for ya and everything! Ha! :)

I know this would have cut into your tractoring fun but...you may have gotten Mike Rowe to do it by hand. He seems to seek these sorts of jobs out. :D

Yep that is one big mess. You will get many hours of seat time cleaning that up. I wonder if there is a farmer in the area that would take it off your hands to spread on his fields. You could ask around.

Run that pile through a shredder while it is basically dry, bag it for sale.

No thanks Max, I have my own mountains of beautiful poooo !! Have never heard of what you guys are talking about down there. (i.e. Manure Farms ?? Maybe they were trying to patent a new type of crop). Seems like a strange way to use a barn. I normally keep my barn for my incredible Dynamo Hummm, Hay Feed, Horses, Tools & such, what a novel idea eh !!

With what came out of there, was there any room for the tractor that they must have had. Probably kept it outside. Too valuable of a cash crop inside the barn to mess things up & keep the tractor inside.....heaven forbid.

Strange people walk this Planet, that's for sure.

When you get that mess cleaned out you'll realize that you have have twice as much room in that barn. Have fun.
