Same here. Didn't know what I was missing. I get 50-60 channels and there are better movies than Dish ever had. So many good old westerns that I never got to see when I was a kid .

Get about 45 over the air stations and half are in English...

Never lived in a home with cable of satellite but have been dealing with these companies for many years managing rentals and know it can get expensive...

I've noticed a lot of programing that I had not seen for years too...

I know alot of you dont have cable or satellite.....thats fine. I (my family) is not one to do without it. I am probably of a much younger generation than alot of you. I like my shows on science and history channel. Kids love their cartoon shows in the evenings or rainy days. And we are huge buckeye football fans. Going without cable or satellite just isnt something I consider as an option. Heck, the wife would probably leave me if I was told her we were dropping satellite:laughing: If we were rubbing our last two nickles together to pay our bills, thats one thing. We certainly aint rich by no means, but can certainly afford the luxury of satellite.

I am not a network guy, and dont know anything about genie go. So dont really know what all that means.

New dish and everything needed to install is coming today. Cost me $70

New HD reciever is coming monday. Will cost me a mere $7/month. And ill get the exact same programming as the house.

I agree, there are way too many programs I like to record and then watch later and the wife would leave me too if she couldn't watch her shows. Particularly those 2 Russian brothers on Dancing with the Stars, Max and Val, she would definitely leave me for one of those guys.

I find it amazing that people just accept that wasting 24 minutes per hour of watching TV(to watch the commercials) is reasonable. (as opposed to dvr and skipping those commercials)

" It's FREE TV! "

I'll bet there's someone out there that can make a direct correlation between skipping commercials and poor health. Commercials encourage you to get up and do something, like vacuum the room or change the laundry. Or, in my case, get a snack!

Don't really watch much TV anymore... Judge Judy as I'm having dinner and maybe the 10 o'clock news.

Use to watch NCIS a lot and the Unit... might watch the Designated Survivor and that Time Travel one if I like the first episodes...

Did get hooked on Downton Abbey when it was on... no commercials there on PBS.

Before Digital Broadcasting I was able to get all the Blacked Out local Sports Games... Raiders/A's with my antenna from a distant Monterey Station... was very nice and hosted games back then so nothing I really was missing.
