DirecWay 2 way Satellite update

 / DirecWay 2 way Satellite update #31
When I bought a DirectTV receiver for the MBR, I thought I was going to have to run new cable from the dish to the MBR. A local satellite guy said to not bother, just use my RG-59.

I have connections for the TV side and it works fine but the installer said that I could not have any connections for the PC stuff.

Mike, does DirecWay also use the coax pair? And do they also want a continuous run from the dish to the PC with a total length less then 100ft?

Yep on both, and it is RG6 but if you had RG59 already, that might be ok (it does have greater attenuation) There should be one break, though, for the lightning arrestor tied to an at least 8' ground rod. I'll try to post a pic of my dish.

I would much rather have the DirecWay than dialup - no question about that! I only meant, in earlier posts to check out and make sure that you can't at least get ISDN... But that may be too pricey for most folks...
