Disable tractor seat shut-off?

Just after the first snow this season my NH TC30 acted dead. Lights worked and battery was well charged. After a lot of searching here and a few calls to a NH dealer, the suspicion fell on a black little box labelled "SAFETY CONTROLLER". Nobody near me seemed to have any way of checking the function of that little box, about the size of a deck of cards, and a new one cost 450 bucks, with no way of returning it if it should turn out to be a different problem.
Two pieces of wire solved the problem. One from key switch to starter solenoid and one from key switch to solenoid fuel shut off at the injection pump, and now all is well. The tractor now works just like older tractors did without all the government mandated safety crap. The only thing that doesn't work, is the dash light for heater plugs, but I know enough not to fry them.

The only issue I have with using a timer bypass switch is it isn't useful when running a PTO generator. For that, I keep a 40# sandbag handy.
I salvaged a timer out of a toaster oven. It has a constant on feature which I use sporadically. My tractor has a constant on built in for pto use. Park brake on, seat up and then engage pto I believe. But you can't move the tractor with it engaged.

Actually thinking about it, I actually do operate the tractor when I am not in the seat, and the PTO is running. My backhoe is operated by a PTO pump. No PTO turning, no backhoe functionality.

Also if one has a PTO operated wood chipper, then I suppose that also would require the PTO to be operating when the operator was not in the seat, if only one guy was involved in doing the work. Which is the case for most of us I think.

So there are times when people need to run the tractor PTO when not in the seat...
My winch doesn't operate very well without the PTO running, either.

Get a long bar to use a lever to apply downforce to the PHD and stand back away from the tractor and PHD both. Most of the horrible accidents I’ve heard about related to tractors are associated with PHD and people applying downforce.
As Henry stated, I was just making light of the topic, not being serious. Yes i actually do use an old pipe to give downward pressure.

My rig doesn't have a seat switch, but maybe that's because it's a cab & shuttle model - or because of the hydraulic seat? Does help not turning off when I do stuff like this myself. Me & my track chair can't do much jumping anymore..

For anyone that really thought I was serious, I do apologize. For newbies and oldies alike, I do agree that it doesn't take much for something to grab & eat you (in less than a heartbeat most times) - seen it, and it ain't pretty when it happens. Just my thoughts, but the lucky ones are those that died so the family didn't have to deal with a quad or para for the rest of their life.

I ended up disabling mine after the first time I blew snow. I have a 3pt blower that you nee to back up with, whenever I turned sideways in the seat to look over my shoulder,I would come up off the seat center and stall the tractor.

Somehow, my under seat shutoff switch quit working after my 2nd day of owning it...

Darndest thing too...it's the only thing that has stopped working in 476 hours of use.

Other than that, it's been a good little tractor.

My tractor came with a button on the dash to run the pto when you’re not in the seat. Called stationary pto.

Mine didn't.

Yes I've done a search and seen some ideas, but would like up-to-date input....

My new tractor is wonderful, but the only big PITA is having it shut off every time I need to jump out and grab or move something.

I understand the inherent dangers of rolling over/falling out etc, but that would be unlikely on my flat acreage.

I just jumpered my riding tractor a while back with no issues, should I do the same on my new Kioti? Thoughts?
have all of mine by passed - the one on the NH was so sensitive I couldn't even lean over to see the edge of the bucket - now I can stand and see the tips of the forks when using that attachment

Disabled my seat switch first thing "out of the box".
Big Gov't wants to have control, but the ambulance chaser lawyers are the cause of the problem. Chasing money for their pockets.
Tractor stays running when I get off so many times to do so many things.. too numerous to mention.
Also, I need to stand up to see the forks when picking up pallets. Hard to do if the tractor is shut off, or the park brake is engaged, or whatever. Ridiculous nuisance in my opinion. Others' may vary.
