I wonder if that NH dealer is being forced to be only a NH dealer? NH is pushing this again. IF you sell more than NH for tractors the NH Dealership must be a stand-alone one.

This is not true. While any vender sure is not going to like having their competition sitting in the same store, they do nothing to force out other companies. Heck we sell New Holland and also carry Brillion, Krone, Kubota and Miller Pro - all of which complete directly with New Holland.

I think this is a likely scenario - same thing happened in the auto industry. A New Holland dealer in my area, I think dropped Mahindra. My Kioti dealer is a Massey dealer as well - Hope he can keep both, but he is selling a lot of Kiotis.

Legally, there are some difficulties - but end the end if a manufacuture has the power - they can make it more difficult on a dealer with multiple lines.

#1 John Deere has zero tolerence for competing lines, and makes hard line issuse with dealers to fight it.

#2 Case/NH, fights it hard, makes life difficult for dealers.

#3 Agco, when they get fed up with a dealer, they just move in with the local Cat dealer.

As the NH dealer said ealier, NH was tolerent with him, but in large areas none of them are. In the Ag industry is where it is most prominant.

3 Deere dealerships near me have taken on secondary lines in the last year; 1) A Deere/NH took on Mahindra, 2) A Deere took on Farmtrac, 3) A Deere took on Montana. All 3 are long time Deere dealerships, 30+ years each. They have taken on other lines due to JD severely limiting the number of tractors they are permitted to stock, the largest dealer was cut from about 30 units to 7. Since taking Mahindra, they have moved about 50 of those in the last year.

Sorry, but this is complete BS in my area. I bought my Kioti a year ago from a JD/Kioti dealer. He has been selling JD for decades and brought on the Kioti line as a complimentary option. Turns out that he had lots of switcheroos when both machines were side by side plus their price tags. A year later he still carries both lines, just needs a better shop.

I don't know how Deere is figuring things, but it looks like they are doing it different in different areas. There is a dealer in my area that was a John Deere dealer for somewhere around 30-40 years. He was a Kubota dealer also for about 5 years. JD told him they didn't want Kubota there. He dropped JD.

Any idea who Kioti is signing on in the Kansas City area? Almost bought a CK30 from the dealer who went to Mahindra, but the wife stopped it. He was very friendly, but like said before I think most of his business deals with ZTR. Must be doing okay since they are building a brand new larger building. I think that dealer had sold MF before and then went to Kioti and has had them for at least five years.

I can't remember who my rep told me was signing on.... I'll see if I can find out. Where in Kansas are you from? We have quite a few units up that way if you are still in the market let me know if there is anything we can do for you.

Kioti's are endangered species in my parts. Two years ago there were 4 Kioti dealers within 45 to 50 miles of me...now, there is only one. Two of the three that dropped Kioti are also AGCO dealers. They kept AGCO.

Better look around more than your backyard. It is happening in other areas. Some build seperate buildings, other just pass on NH.
