Here's my update.
We cut the cable/phone/internet package from TWC down to just internet service. Went with DirectTVNow for TV. Just completely dropped the phone and are using cell service only.
So far the Direct TV Now has a package that is OK as far a programs and networks we look at. The rest we can get online anyway. They did have a deal where if you paid for a few months up front they would give you an Apple TV unit for no additional charge. We use that on the main TV and something called a Firestick on the other ones. With those Firesticks you can view your subscription on any TV where you have internet. So we can take it to the farm. DW is trying it out this weekend and we already cut the cable service out there. Internet service has always been good there so she should have no problem.
We did lose the built in DVR with the cable box but so far that hasn't been a noticible loss. A lot of available auxiliaries on the new system we haven't got into yet. Might never. The remote control is much smaller and more streamlined than the cable remote. Still have on for the TV and then the Apple TV. The remote for the Apple TV is very small and you switch mostly by swiping your thumb across it. Takes some getting used to.
We cut a little over $200 off our bill between both places. Still get TV that we want and internet. We will see how it works out.
