12 VDC 13.2 GPM SAE 8 SOLENOID DOUBLE SELECTOR VALVE

Look for it in Selector valves section.

These valves can also be stacked.

That is a good price on those.. Very similar to the ones Fasse makes. They do not have the stacking tie rod kits, but it does come with the Hirschman connector and 2 O rings for stacking. They do not have any application data sheets. But I "assume".. that the fluid flow would be in the left, out the right and the energized coil flow would come out of the face.. Their tech did not know.

It'd be really weird if that wasn't the case - no point making them stackable otherwise. I'm glad to see Surplus has them back in stock, still thinking about a couple more for my projects... Steve

You will notice that the top face and one of the side face of the valve has an indented side which is for the o-ring.

They can be stacked.

I don't know why they don't have the stacking tie rod kits, but he said you would just have to source that yourself locally. I wonder if the fasse valve stacking tie rod kits would work on these?

I am (forever) in the planning stages to add remote hydraulics to my FEL. I was looking at this solenoid valve

SAE 8 6 GPM DOUBLE SELECTOR VALVE 12 VDC P15544-2

Do you see advantages in the new product you posted about compared to Item no. 9-5117-A aside from higher flow capacity (which I won't need) and stackability?

I don't. Provided your flow rate is 6gpm or less and you don't want to do any valve stacking.

Thanks James. The pump on my tractor is rated for 7.8 gpm (as I recall) but I can't imagine needing to stack solenoid selector valves for any application I might have.

JJ, my plan is to add a control valve in the cab, run a set of hydraulic lines from that valve out along the boom, and end those lines in a solenoid selector valve so I can have two additional functions at FEL boom when needed.

I was actually thinking that for my intended applications, having slightly restricted flow to slow down the piston action might be beneficial. Aside from slowing the pistons would using a 6 gpm selector valve cause any problems?

More background:

The uses for the remote hydraulics will (might) include single action cylinders to angle a snow plow, two small double action pistons to open and close wings on the plow, log grapple that can be rotated hydraulically (I envision home made, with a double action piston, or two single action pistons on a cam to rotate the grapple 180 degrees give or take), double action pistons to raise and lower a bucket / root grapple.
