Diverter Valves

Thanks Okie,

I missed the link the last time it came up. Bookmarked it this time. One of those would be quite the ticket for the forklift.

MDNick and ns_in_tex,

One more possible source is one of the front blade (snow blade) companies that offer hydraulic options on their blades.

A few months ago I called CurtisCabs about the front blades they make. They offer an electric diverter valve retrofit which creates an extra set of loader frame quick connects. The control button mounts as a thumb switch on the SCV lever. This would be used in their application to angle the front blade to left or right. I got the impression they would be glad to sell the diverter valve as a separate unit.

Their 1-800-number is on their website at CurtisCabs.

Neal:
I got my diverter kit from W .R. Long, in Tarboro, NC. They don't have a website, but their phone is 1-800-823-4570.
I have their 4 n 1 bucket, for which the diverter kits are assembled.
A thread on the diverter on my Power Trac is at

You might also try Bailey, which sells a lot of different hydraulic cylinders, valves, etc. I have found them helpful on the phone and fast delivering. BAILEY Phone 1-800-800-1810
Good luck.

Ooops. I have a correction to make. Charlie's post above reminded me.

When I called and found a manufacturer willing to sell just the diverter valve, it was Long not Curtis. Although, Curtis might also sell a solo diverter valve. I have talked to both companies, but it's been a while and I got them mixed up.

Charlie,
Do you know the brand & M# of the valve you used?
I looked at your installation instructions & found them to be exact as the instructions on the Gresen valve which I purchased locally & iinstalled. It does work, but it will not apply near as much pressure to the cylinder as when it is hooked to the rear remotes. Also the specs say it will leak 20 CIPM @ 2000 PSI @ 128 deg F.
Do you, or anyone have any idea why the no power?
My valve was a Grensen MS06-UDNA-01-12B.

Neal:
I do not know the brand and model number of mine. I looked at it before I mounted it, and found no data plate. I suspect it is a Gresen because that seems a dominant brand, and there is probably a cast logo on it somewhere.
Mine seems to reduce the rate a bit, but not the pressure. That is pure impression, however, since it hooks the lines to a completely separate circuit from that previously used, so the difference may not be the valve, at all. The tilt function (Valve inactivated) seems unaffected, so there really isn't reason to suspect that flow is much affected when the diverter valve is activated.
The lift and tilt hydraulics all have a fairly fast leakdown rate on the PT, even cold, so leakdown in the new valve wouldn't be noticable.
