Buzzbox welder.. any of the older AC only welders to include the AC225 Lincoln or one of the Century or Cambell Hausfeld, or any AC only welder.
AC/DC welders are more desirable or the newer DC only welders (inverters) offer many advantages. I have a 160 amp max DC welder made by Everlast, the size of a toaster and weight about 22 lbs. I also have an "buzzbox" a Lincoln AC225, still a good old big heavy transformer based welder, and it is for sale ($150 bucks and I will help load it). It is the same welder that is for sale today at Home depot. But any welder is better than no welder. Of course you need instruction, but it CAN be self instruction. just expect it to take it longer.
And it depends on the person.
