DIY Ignition Switch Cover

I have read alot of posts concerning water getting into ignition switch, I have come up with a simple solution to keep the rain water out if yours stays outside. It consists of a 1" pvc pressure cap and a short piece of 1" Thin Wall Pipe.

This fits snugly on my 2008 DK35, hope it works for you as well.

Here is another idea, using a Gatorade lid, one from the small size bottle, fits almost perfect and is orange too.
The Gatorade lids are flexible plastic and I made a way of making it snug fit, just cut a slot on either side and used some wire to act as a tension for a snug fit.

Party pooper.

I would have to drive to the dealer, pay, then wait for it to come in, and then drive back to get.
Cool thing is I can take this off and it fits right over the light switch knob for safe keeping when key is in.

Or you could ask your dealer to give you one as part of PDI completion, FREE! Like I did.:thumbsup:

I love it... I had thought about using some kind of bottle cap, but hadn't figured out which one to use... will try the Gatorade one as soon as I get home. Thanks GMtb42!
