DK 55 loader speed

If I looked at the right model numbers and I think that I did both the Kioti loader and the Woods loader have the same size cylinders. If there were a difference in the speed between these two loaders, it would be because of the size of the lines or the size of passages in the control valve.

I can speak from personal experience with a Woods loader on a model 4630 New Holland tractor. It is painfully slow, but made very heavy. All of the guys that operate it at work complain about the speed and two different New Holland dealers have looked everything over and said that's the way it is.

Thanks Bob, I was going to say the same thing last night, but was a bit wooped. I think the woods loader may have larger cylinders, hence a bit slower on the up lifting. Kioti sized their pumps for their equipment loader, and after market would be different. I was a bit suprised to see read at the Kioti wesite that the DK65S has 10.88 on the main pump, and what? 8.5 on the steering pump. That must be a large tractor to steer. Would seem it would then be into the pump class of the NHs TN65/70/75 tractors.

/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I can't say if your right or wrong, ( I don't know anything about your tractor), but I'm willing to bet I can flip your tractor over with my loader! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What this has to do with a DK55's loader speed I have no idea. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

( O.K. sorry but this is the last try. I had the tracotr at dealers all winter to get things worked out. Loader specs out with the tracotr hydraulics and pressure. BUT it is so slow !!! Any one have any pearls of wisdom besides selling this rig. It has a Woods 1020 loader . It is trong and the curl angle and power are good but wow baby is it slow to curl and dump ! Please help !! )

My loader is as fast as I want, and can be made very fast if I move the joy stick more. I generally run the tractor at 1800-2000 rpm, it's still breaking in so I run it at different rpm's routinely. If I ran it at rated rpm, 2600, the loader would move too quickly in my opinion. Same with the backhoe.

Of course, my loader is designed for this tractor, so your loader may have needed different characteristics to function at the speed you're looking for.

Nah, not too long. He said it was only the curl and dump that was slow. He could flip you right fast on the upswing! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Gmol, I think something MUST be wrong, because I've used a Woods on a DK55, 65S and 45S, and didn't notice they were slow at all. Even at full RPM you're crawling?

Are you sure you don't have any levers partially engaged that should be, like for the rear remotes? No mix of draft/position control set funky or something? I know, I'm grabbing at straws, but I hate that your having a bad time.

Did you switch the curl and dump connections for the raise and lower to see if they slowed down and the curl/dump sped up? That could help you isolate.

Thanks for all input. Seems that the loader is designed for 9-14gpm. This tractor seems to spec at 9 to the main pump. Minimal at best. The loader is slow in a commersial application. I move a lot of dirt and compost. To the home owner/operator the speed probably is o.k. and not percieved as slow. AS a commercail application , even at 24oo rpm sitting still waiting for things to dump seems eternal. I did change the lines around last fall with no improvement. I have thought of going with a woods joy stick in lieu of the Kioti stick but all pressures and flow volumes spec. If any one has an opportunity to run a 1020 woods loader time the dump cycle and please let us know. Happy easter, and thanks all, G

Gmol, is it possible also to bump up the relief pressure setting. I've read that the John Deere 5300 series run their hydraulic pressure at 2755psi. This may help push the fluid faster into the cylinders, and still stay below the 3000 psi wp of most hydraulic hoses.
