Great news! Probably as cheap a fix as you could hope for. Thanks for sharing the fix with us.

What ritcheyvs mentioned about not just guessing and replacing parts without diagnosing the issue first leads to big $ spending on things like starters and batteries, which most times don't need replacing.
I mention this for the OP, but more importantly, for others who may read this post.

Additionally the OP mentioned removing the positive cable from the battery and leaving it overnight. NO, do not remove the positive cable from the battery. Always remove the negative cable from the negative post. Do this to prevent sparking when disconnecting any battery and do the opposite when installing a battery, positive first, negative last.

I also suggest people ask BEFORE replacing ANY electrical system part, especially batteries, and in particular starters. They seldom fail, but batteries often do.

On wrench slip while removing the positive cable first instead of last, could teach you a valuable if hard lesson. It is truly amazing what a good battery will do to a wrench in a couple of seconds and to the person holding it. Not to mention the production of hydrogen gas in large volumes real quick. By the way hydrogen gas is very flammable. KABOOM is possible.
