DK40 Tachometer cable

FYI: I don't know if anyone has had their cable snap but,I just replaced mine and did a little modification which may stop it from happening again.
The cable is forced to make an impossible bend at the engine which is where mine broke.If the cable were a tad longer it wouldn't be a problem.To gain some length you can drill a new hole in the bulkhead about 6" lower which gives the cable a more direct path.By bulkhead I mean the panel that it passes through near the fuel tank(there is a grommet there).
By the way the complete inner/outer cable assy. was $8.00......gotta love those Kioti's......Mike.

I broke the tach cable on my DK 35 a year or 2 ago in the same place ( right at the bend in the cable where it exits the motor).
If I break another cable I may try your mod.. and drill a lower hole in the firewall for the cable routing.

hey Mike,
I have a dk35 and I just this minute came in to try and locate a cable for it. Same problem you had, broke at the same place. Doing the search your comments was the first thing that popped on yahoo. Where did you get your cable? I was figuring it would be far more expensive than 8 bucks.
