DK40SE Won't Turn Off

Check fuse 2. Also the stop relay may not be as described above. Mine was a different relay. I found mine by feeling for clicking

the signal goes thru the ignition relay……not sure where that is. But still looking

It appears the ignition relay is the same as the starter relay according to this image…..

My tractor is a dk40se. 1550hrs.

Problem I'm having is that it will hot shut off with the key.

To shut it off I have to do it manually at the solenoid.

Any suggestions?

In actual fact the issue is that if the solenoid is manually pushed in, it will hold in that position with the engine running until the key is shut off. This will shut the engine off, but you will be unable to restart it until the solenoid is removed and manually pushed to the run position.

You need to ohm out the stop solenoid

Only 3 options..
It’s either the key switch itself..
Or the pull in coil in the solenoid is shot, so u have to replace it.
Or u have a bad relay..

Tested solenoid - it was good
Replaced relay - it was good
Tested key switch - it was good

Issue seems to be the the power in wire to the stop solenoid relay was not getting proper voltage. Don't know why. Ran a jumper wire from the fused side of fuse 2. Working good now.
Does anyone have a wiring schematic so that I can see if there are any connectors in that wire that may be bad?

i dont think there is a wiring schematic. its just one big wiring harness. all wires are covered in that spiral tubing. im not sure how you would sort it out. when my tractor was under warranty, i had an issue with stop solenoid blowing fuse randomly.

we tried swapping relays, solenoids, etc. each fix worked for a bit, then fuse blew. dealer sent me a new wiring harness...about 9 years ago. i told him i would replace it to save them a 2 hour roundtrip...and i am an electrician afterall.

no issues since.

i looked over old harness, never did find the issue.

I had the same issue with my CK30. It was a dirty plug in the harness. WD40 fixed it.
