DK45 starting problem

   / DK45 starting problem #11
I knew about the possibility of the switch being a POS, so when it started requiring me to "fiddle" with it too much, I drug the tractor in and had them do the 200 hour service on it at the same time. Bonus was they figured out the turn signal was also causing an issue and went ahead and put in a new one while they were at it. I guess I figure that it is really only a problem if things are not fixed, or the charges are unfair. Haven't ran into that at all. Funny part is this is NOT the dealer I bought from - they are about an hour further away than the dealer I'm using ( their price was not as good). If I had known these folks were as easy to deal with as it has turned out to be, I may have spent the extra $$$... (nah)..

Ease up dude, I'm just the messenger here not the source of the problem. And FWIW, I was instrumental in making sure Kioti solved the 'squeal in reverse issue'.
When one buys a tractor new it comes with a warranty so the dealer and the manufacturer are in agreement with you to fix any defective parts or materials/workmanship during the stated warranty period.
I'm not saying that takes away the frustration you may be feeling about your experience to date, but let's not forget how the warranty works. Consider yourself lucky if they send you a switch instead of having to diagnose it and fix it at their shop- not an unusual requirement of warranty work.
I just bought a boat trailer brand new. It came with a leaking spliced brake line, a missing screw in the brake actuator cylinder and numerous other things I have had to point out to the manufacturer, who blames it all on their suppliers and gives me little assurance that they will be there for me going forward.
And just about EVERYTHING that contains a switch these days, which is about anything you can think of has bad from the factory components. Why? because Americans have allowed corporations to ship our workforce jobs overseas and China, S. Korea and Thailand, etc. are making CRAP and we keep buying it.
It's all junk: cell phones, GPS units, pc's, laptops, software, etc. It's all got a short shelf life like milk and lookout if you don't get things fixed during warranty, 'cause after it's up so is the willingness to fix it for anything but highway robbery pricing.
Rant over:confused3:

Let me be clear. I'm not frustrated with you or any of the other forum members who are willing to share their experiences with what amounts to a complete stranger. So thanks. They are very helpful. It was hot yesterday, the may flies were biting and I had my tractor column in 2 pieces instead of bush hogging my fields so I was a bit tense if you will.

Also, I never said it was a lemon. I was only repeating the feedback I'm getting at home because of all the little things that we've had to deal with in a short period of time. Each time, we get something fixed I'm hoping it's the last and wondering what it's going to be like in 2 more years when the warranty is gone. I'm hoping they are minor bugs (other than having to split my new tractor in half to replace a defective shifter rail) and it will offer me many good years of service. It was a better priced tractor with better specs in many cases than similar classed tractors of other colors. That's why I bought it. Finally, my brother's John Deere came with a defective front seal, per the dealer, that failed a couple weeks out of warranty and JD did not want to help with it. They went around and around and finally, JD paid a third, the dealer paid a third and my brother paid a third. So, I realize problems are not color specific. Just concerned about the ones that keep happening in my back yard. It didn't fix my fuel gauge by the way. Good Sunday to all.

I hope for you that the things that have happened with your Kioti are isolated instances and you will be able to start m any worry free years of ownership.
I agree that your tractor is in no way a lemon.
I'd suggest getting your fuel gauge fixed under the warranty. Hopefully your dealer will send you that along with the new key switch.
Post back results....

Thanks,
