I'd run it as is and change oil at next regular interval. Kioti recommended interval is very conservative and the equivalent of changing your car oil every 3000 miles.

Note for future reference; don't over tighten the pan drain bolts. They are steel on an aluminum pan, and can strip out fairly easily if torqued too tight.

I own a DK4510. My manual says the engine oil capacity is 2.4 gallons.
I an doing my first oil change.

When I changed my engine oil (and filter), I added that amount (2.4gal).
After running the engine for 10 seconds. Then for 5 min and checking the oil level, my dipstick indicates that I am way way overfilled.
I am now in the process of draining oil out, until i get the oil level down to the full mark.

What gives?

I was only able to add 1.6 gallons.
I would love to know what others have run across.

I just got off the phone with Kioti. (877.465.4684).
They say the manual is wrong.
While the printed manual says 2.4 gallons, the manual *should* say 1.58 US gallons.

Mystery solved.

Boy, you'd think Kioti would have issued a corrected manual or at least a sticky to put over the incorrect info in the manual. You can damage an engine with too much oil so Kioti really should be more proactive.

Quantity of old oil never seemed to match the manual's specs! ...I always pour slowly and go by the dipstick.
