Man, I hate that for you. I sure have broken plenty of stuff, so don't feel so bad about it. Did you check into your homeowners insurance? Maybe they will cover some of the cost.

Also if you financed your tractor, most loans require damage insurance, which would cover your door, you might check to see if you paid for that.
I financed mine through agricredit and have it included with the loan.

I delivered the tractor this morning, should be ready sometime this week.

I got insurance but didn't think about it when I broke the glass (i just wanted to clean the glass from the gravel and think about something else).
my father asked me about the insurance and he is pretty sure I would have gotten something from them. I personnally think I should have called the cops to write a report on the incident and then call the insurance. (but the tractor was already in the garage, and the glass in the trash...)

its all done anyway, hope to get the tractor wednesday-thursday.

on a side note, i was having a little problem with the "range" selector and was reporting a visit to the dealer, its a good timing I guess.
sometime when I want to switch from Medium range to Low Range (or M to H or whatever), the handle dont want to move from the current position, a little push on the foward/backward pedal and the handle can go into any position ? not sure if it is normal or not, the guy at the dealer wasnt sure and today, no mechanics were present so I guess they will check that at the same time.

thanks for your support :)

Normal for all hydro's. you can feel the gears aligning. Just barely press one or the other pedals and it will slip right in.. Of course this doesn't happen all the time, only when the gear teeth are by chance slightly out of alignment. Another thing you can do if it is on a slight slope is take your foot off the brake and let it roll an inch or two. A lot of people don't realize that a Hydrostat tractor still has a two or three speed gear transmission also.

Jose G,
Ouch, I'm sorry to hear it. I to am one of those who won't move an inch without closing the door(s). That hasn't stopped me from ripping one of the work lights and the antenna off the roof of the cab leaving two holes that had to be repaired. I got what I thought was a ridiculous price to replace the roof so I had it repaired. The price you got doesn't surprise me one bit, not that it wouldn't bother me just as much, but tempered glass is expensive. Sorry for your bad luck.

The glass on these tractors is curved with a lot of hardware mounted to it, I don't know if you could just cut a piece of glass for one.

ouch I did the same thing with a fence post. it is amazing how fast it just explodes.. I have bought two doors and a window, but i have to commend kioti on the way they engineered their glass as it installs very very easily. I installed all of my mistakes at the ranch.

It had just been washed the night before:D
Had to clean it up, The dealer was stopping by on his way through to take some pictures, I have a couple nicks in the hood, one is a very small dent,(like a BB hit it) as delivered, not a big deal but I paid alot of money for it, any dents or scratches I'll be the one putting them in there.. 45 hrs on it now:thumbsup:. Its been plenty dirty several different times.

They are purdy when their clean:)

I bought my DK50 with a busted out cab window. The seller gave me the gasket which had all of those little pieces of glass stuck inside the recessed groove. I found a easy way to remove the glass pieces by using a flat blade screwdriver the blade the same width as the groove. I'd slip it under the glass between the glass and the gasket then pry the glass up and out of the groove. It took 5 minutes to do the whole thing. I then made a cardboard cutout/template of the window area by tracing the window frame. I found a piece of polycarb and made a satisfactory replacement. It does not have the bubble effect that the real window had but it got the cab closed up and works good enough for farm work.

I found a boat hitch with mine giving a guy instructions, lost $1000 on that job.

D R B T When getting in the tractor and T B R D when getting out. Door, Range, Brakes, Throttle. Once the habit is formed a lot less chance of ripping the door.
