DK50SE stuck in low range

Good evening everyone,
First timer here, I appreciate everyones response in advance!

I just purchased a 2013 DK50SEHC that was working fine for a couple of days until yesterday. For some reason I cant get out of low range. I can physically move the lever, and feel it click (which Im assuming is just the detents), but doesnt go into another range, nor neutral. Sometimes itll pop out of low while Im using it, then I throw it back in low and itll work in low again. It never goes into any of the other ranges no matter what I do.
When it did work, I could feel it grind just a little before the synchronizers caught. I would just hit the forward pedal a little to help synch to gears and decrease the grinding, and it would go in just fine. Now I dont feel any of that grind at all, feels real soft.
The shaft going into the transmission from the range lever is turning (roll pin isnt sheared).
Hydraulic fluid is full.
My assumption is that a fork broke, what do yall think? If so, whats the best way to get to it?

I do have the shop manual for the CK50, which I read is the same. Going to dive in this weekend, was hoping for some reassurance.

The technical term for the problem you have is "broken". You know and I know and yes, even yellow dog knows you are going to have to tear it apart to fix it. Your idea of a broken fork sounds about right to me, but you are not going to know until it is opened up and you can look and see what is broken.

Dang it. I know this is not exactly what you wanted to hear, but you know it is truth.

I wish I did. The only thing i can think of is when I disassemble something complex, I take a series of photo's. It actually helps to put things back together during those "oh crap" moments where you say "I wonder where that thing goes?"

i have done the same thing for years.... only real use i can find for a smart phone.

Very nice! Maybe something to help us "see" why it's so hard to get the thing into medium range at times. :thumbsup:

Been meaning to post some progress pics, turned out to be the fork but it wasn’t snapped like I thought it was going to be, it was worn out??
