I was wondering with the ever expanding data base of DNA how long until they can put a face with a sample of DNA from an unknown person? I see these places that will run your DNA and tell you were your ancestors were from, what race etc, etc. I imagine they will eventually be able to input the DNA and out comes a composite "sketch" of the perp.
What do you think?

I think they will also be able to tell you what disease you will most likely die from, and when, if not killed by accident and what vocation you would be best suited for. They will be able to type you with the perfect mate to produce the "master race" or to program your child for the occupation that they need to fill the most.

I also think that this information will get into the hands of people we would prefer didn't have it. :(

Was wathching a show the otherday (can't remember exactly where), but there is a place where you can send a copy of your DNA and a $100 and get a report on your ancestors' journeys ( in the most basic of terms, of course). Quite interesting.

If we are all descended from the same mother... do you also suppose we are also descended from the same father? OOPS.... does that question violate TBN strictures on political and/or religious topics?

The fact that they were looking for a common anscestral human mother has to do with the type of DNA that was analyzed in that particular study. The reasearchers that did that study were only looking at differences in the type of DNA that people only get from their mother (mitochondrial DNA).

This definition from Wikipedia, which I just found, seems to be rather complete in its discussion.... I even found out about Y-chromosomal Adam, whom I had not ever heard about before..... Seems we all have the same multi-great grandmother and grandfather .... they simply lived at different times!

Yep, but still interesting if you think about how the human race has spread out over the earth.
