What is it about women and color and variety?

I just wear blue jeans, sneaks and a white T-shirt. The jeans do get hot in the summer, but protect my legs - I seem to be a mosquito magnet..........I've got plenty of head fur for protection, so I don't wear a hat when it gets too hot.........

Before I had cattle.. I never would have imagined how much a cow slobbered.. especially when watching you tote a feed bucket over to the trough..

You feed your cows?? Mine don't know what feed is! They sure do like cow cookies, I mean range cubes, though. I toss them a few just to make sure they're glad to see me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

btw, blue cotton work pants for me and button up shirts with a pocket for my glasses. All my tractors have tops so I usually don't worry about a hat, but I like the wide brim open weave straw hats that breathe. gabby

My father wore the bib overhauls and a straw hat all his farming life. Think they were very comfortable. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My grandfather wore the denim bib overalls and long sleeved blue work shirt all the time. My dad preferred khaki, but did wear some variety. However, I don't suppose he ever owned a short sleeved shirt in his life; always wore long sleeves, while I almost never wear long sleeves.

Hate clothes.

Usually ride my tractor in afternoons after my after lunch hike for 3-4 miles in natural areas. On my hike, I wear hiking boots, a floppy hat and a towel draped over my shoulders closed in front with a clothes pin. Wear the hiking boots with socks because my feet crack with sandals. Otherwise, I'd be happy in sandals. Only wear the floppy hat and towel drape to keep the flies from driving me crazy. Otherwise, I'd just wear a sweat band made of a strip of old towel around my forehead.

You asked.

If I meet anyone down there (about 0.5% of the time), I either use the towel I'm sitting on or the drape towel as a coverup, if they have a problem with me. Most people don't.

I imagine that seat can get pretty hot in the afternoon sun /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Or do you have some sort of 'breathable' fabric seat?

Me, I go for shorts and a <font color="red">H</font><font color="green">a</font><font color="blue">w</font><font color="orange">a</font><font color="purple">i</font><font color="red">i</font><font color="blue">a</font><font color="green">n</font> Shirt

Every time I think about Ralph in his "outfit" on his tractor, I remember one reason to wear pants...
To protect yourself from any possible PTO injury. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

All nudists usually sit on towels. Easy to wash skid marks off them.

And there is a disturbing mental image. Although I think I'd rather meet up with a nudist in the woods than a man wearing a thong. At least I can understand why someone would be a nudist.

My dress usually depends on the task at hand...
Normally, if I'm doing medium to heavy duty yard work, I'll have on blue jeans, a t shirt, steel-toe boots, and a baseball cap.

It takes 3 hours to cut my grass and I get home from work after 6:00 pm... Sometimes I don't have the couple of minutes needed to change my clothes. If I'm only mowing, and I'm trying to get it done before it rains, you might see me wearing Dockers, polo shirt, etc. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not to hi-jack the thread, but this story just has to be told....

When I was a younger man, I raced dirt bikes. I rode enduros mostly. One of my favorites was run near Roselawn Indiana, on the grounds of a nudist colony.

The first year I rode the "Summer Bummer Enduro", I heard it was a nudist colony, but I was a naive farm boy who just didn't comprehend what I was about to see.

I was ripping through the sand and pine trees, having the tiome of my life. I rounded a curve in the trail. There she was.... A 300 lb. (+) woman, dressed in Converse tennis shoes, a straw hat, and a pair of Oakly sun glasses.......

I spent the next 2 or 3 minutes crashing into every tree in the woods. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I've raised 2 kids, have 4 grandkids, been married 29 years, and spent 4 years in the army. I've never seen ANYTHING that shook my up so much before or since......

Dave,
Is the Hangtown Studio still in Placerville? When I was a kid (1961) I worked for Fred Nunn in his Carmichael, CA studio. I think he still owned the Hangtown Studio then. He was a retired Highway Patrolman.

Bird:

My father also only had long sleeved shirts and wore long johns year round. Lighter weight in summer and heavier in winter.

I've never been much for safety so unless there is risk of thorns in my feet like when bush hogging, for nearly everything else I just wear sandals, old sports shorts, and my worn out logo tee-shirts or tank tops... I don't wear completely white tee shirts unless it is under something else. I typically have mud dripping off of me and my wife frequently makes me hose off in the back yard and almost pull a RalphVA high tailing it to the house.

Notice the sandals... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I try and wear as much black apparel as I can.

Hides dried blood.
Hides grease.
Attracts heat.
Avoids the wrath of the women.

Well I was following this thread while eating a handful of chocolate chip cookies until I got to Ralph's post about the skid marks. Then all of a sudden those chocolate chip cookies that my wife made just didn't taste the same. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
