Do I have a pond monster ?

LOL - I just saw your reply to my post.... We are twins...I go through the same as you posted with my crane...I will get him one day or he will get me...It reminds me of that movie with the 2 brothers that inherited their uncles mansion and a mouse destroyed the mansion and them....

I have a new tactic. I'm a member of the Ohio Fast Draw Assc. We have fast draw competitions with real guns, shooting wax bullets. I shoot a Vaquero in .45 LC cal. The wax bullet is propelled by a 209 shot shell primer only. Last night I staged up in my garage with the back door cracked open and waited for him. He showed up within 30 minutes and I popped him from about 20 feet. It made him stumble just a bit, then as usual, he was up and out again. Just about an hour ago, I let him have it again. I'm hitting him in the wing on his side, so there is no danger of it killing him. It's just giving him a good wallop, but he is still coming back. Hoping he'll get the idea sooner or later. I guess hunger will drive any animal to take great chances.

I'm going to have to believe that you didn't do that until he drew down on you first.

LOL...now that there is funny, I don't care who you are.

I waited until he squinted at me, then I felt I'd better go ahead and pull. He's pretty fast!

btw, how did you include the quote button graphic in your previous post?

For example, I copied & pasted this part: [QUOTE=wrflt;2605653]

... & highlight any letter(s) of the word "QUOTE" & change the font color to black

Since the letters QUOTE will no longer be in a row, the site no longer recognizes it as HTML code.

not sure what you are saying. this is the source code from your o/p but it doesn't result in a quote button in my post:confused:

Or just click the <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/images/buttons/quote.gif" border="0" alt="" onload="NcodeImageResizer.createOn(this);" /> button at the bottom-right of any post

btw, we used to call them "culldoons"... inexplicable criters responsible for anything unexplainable in the woods.

My nephew in VA (near DC) used to shoot garden-marauding deer with his paintball gun. All the deer in the neighbourhood had weird colored blotches, but I don't think it really discouraged them from their garden raids.

I have a quick, clarifying question for those of you who have cranes raiding your ponds. What species of crane are you referring to, or, do you mean Great Blue Heron? The GBH is the wader that nabs fish in my pond/stream.
Thanks,
BOB
