Do I need a magnifing lens?

If it works for you, do it! Only other thing I can think of is buy different shade lenses, and even different brands of lenses until you find one you can see with the best. You have to find what works best for you. I know some of the best weldors on this planet, not a one of them can weld without seeing! Well not as long anyway.:laughing:

Been away from the forum and catching up ... Shield Arc, you are sooooo right. Was doing some welding and time got away from me. Next thing I knew, it was dinner time so I went in and had dinner and figured I'd finish stick welding later - arc is bright enough to see by, right? Forgot I need light to strike the arc and get it in the right position - DUH!

Thinking about getting a light set up off to the side as well after that.
