You will only get better with the HST too. While simple to use, it takes a little time to master. I have seen some folks put their entire foot on the pedal, a practice that I think is incorrect. By placing your heel on the deck and working the pedal with your foot you can easily manage rough terrain simply by feeling the front wheels and responding. Its a very helpful asset on todays tractor. I have also found that medium is the dominate range but have also used high more frequently as it really works well on my tractor and with the straight through shifting of all 3 ranges, shifting is quick. I had a L48, a bigger tractor them my L3830, the size was not the issue, it was that mowing with the loader on was a major hassle and the medium range was only 4 mph as opposed to 7.5 mph. Other then that the size was fine. Your L5030 really is not much bigger then any of the L30 series. Your size will be fine and the power should be swell. The loader is where the L4330, 4630 and L5030 really have the benefit over the L3830 and smaller, specifically the loader lift height. Have a blast with your new L5030 HST. If it's as nice as the L3830 HST, you will. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Rat...
