I've been visiting a website showing plans for building all sorts of stuff- mostly from Mechanix illustrated etc... The owner says he's shutting it down- worth a look before it goes...

This is a shame.

Can you imagine the time, well thought out ideas and expense that went into compiling this information.

I spent the last few hours, especially in tractors section, just amazed at the ingenuity and dedication. Thanks for sharing,

There are foundations that save animals, buildings, wetlands etc. Someone needs to rescue this site. Wish I were a rich man as this is something I would surely do. Regards, Mark777

unfortunately a lot of the tractors use things like "a narrowed 1928 chev rear axle"... but still show lots of ingenious solutions to problems that are still relevent!
i really like the site and been printing out the pdfs...

Fellas, don't despair yet.
Jim may still be around.

Ger, with some thought you can substitute parts on those creations. That could be the fun part of building from those plans.

what do ya mean by unfourtanatly? do you just mean that you wouldnt be likely to find a 1928 chevy axle these days, cause most likely you could find an axle that would work just fine outa a modern small pickup, theres not too much difference in axles, if you could make the rest of it im sure ya could figure out what axle would work

Yeah, i know....actually when something like that axle is specified, we can find some recently-manufactured thing that does the job far better.
You're right, thats all the fun!
