Do they make trench digger attachments?

If you're patient something will turn up. I found a DuAl PTO trencher on eBay that no one wanted a little over a year ago. As long as you're not trenching to the maximum depth, you may be able to run a larger trencher on a smaller tractor.

Check out this thread by DK35vince. He used his Kioti DK35 TLB to dig trenches for some utility lines. He did a great job.

Here is the link:

Utility line digging begins

I would also not recommend a 3PH backhoe. They put too much stress on the tractor frame. In some cases, people have even broke their machines in half. You should consider a backhoe with a subframe that mounts to the tractor. That way, any stress is put on the backhoe subframe.

I've seen pics on here of someone using a subsoiler with a 90 degree PVC elbow attached to the back side and a coil of wire being fed into it as it is being dug. That might work for sprinker lines as well. It looked pretty slick and the whole operation was done in one pass.

I know Kubota makes one. They say it is compatable with the B2410 but not the B2400 (18 PTO hp) for some reason. With that orange paint it's likely to be expensive.

I used a rental walk behind trencher (should that be a walk-in-front-of trencher since you are going backwards /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) to lay water lines to both my wife's and my garden this spring. The rental wasn't too expensive per day (less than a $100 I think) and you can cut a lot of trench in a day with it. Even the big ride on trenchers weren't all that expensive. I used the tractor FEL and box blade to fill it in and tamp it down after I'd finished laying and testing lines.

If it were me, I'd mark out where my lines are to go with spray paint one day, rent a trencher early next morning and have at it. Even a big installation shouldn't take more than one days rental and it should bury them deep enough to prevent freezing, especially if you design it so you can drain the lines before winter.
