You need to edit and add a t to the bradco
http://www.beavervalleysupply.com/sectione/bradcot.htm
Easiest way to do it is to highlight the address by putting the mouse cursor at the beginning of the address, hold down the left mouse button and drag it across to the end of the address. Now it should be blue. Let go of the left button and right click with the cursor in the blue area. You will see "copy", choose that. Now when you are posting, when you want to enter it, click on URL and put the cursor in that window, right click and choose "paste." Hope this helps. John
Edit: I should say that you may only have to right click on the address bar and then choose copy as most of the time it will automatically highlight. If it doesn't, then go through the above steps to highlight it first. J

It worked, thank you John, lesson learned of the day, good day, anyway there appears to be 3pt chain trenchers for cat 1 compacts but they ain't cheap. this is one site found. I have found smaller units. but need a hydro, plus one rear remote to get it in and out of the ground. Thanks again John

You are soooo right. Those prices were something else!
BTW, when you copy an address, don't forget to click on URL in the Instant Markup section, paste the address in there, and then give it a name like you did in your first post. If you don't do it that way and just paste the whole addy into the post as we both did earlier, the larger addresses will throw off the page formatting and everybody will have to scroll the page sideways, which is a real pain. I'm glad I could help. That little trick can be used for quoting and many other things you want to copy to another location. John

I just finished trenching about 1500 feet for a sprinkler system. I used a walk-behind trencher and got most of the machine trenching done in an evening. However, I live in an area with alot of rocks and whenever I hit a decent sized one (say softballish size or bigger) the machine bucked wildly and/or stalled and left the rock in the ditch. By the end of the endeavour both me and the machine took quite a beating. And then I had to spend the next three days cleaning out the trenches by hand. My point? If you end up renting and have rocky soil and a lot of trenching to do it may be worthwhile to see about getting something more than a walk-behind. Where the soil is fairly clean without larger rocks the walk-behinds work great but that just hasn't been the case for the two sprinkler systems I have installed. I wanted to rent a ride on trencher with the rock blade(?) but my truck wasn't big enough to pull it home from the rental yard. Anyway, I don't know what your soil is like but just thought I'd add my two cents since I've just been through it.

Matt

You know I never looked at using the instant Markup features before. IM is waaay easier!

Just for grins, here's the link using IM to post:

Back to original question. If this is for one time use, I can't imagine justification of buying 3pt trencher. If you're a contractor, maybe good idea. Not sure of your intentions(size wise). The subsoiler with applicator will lay roll polypipe as you plow and barely disturb ground. Trencher, backhoe,s will clear trench nicely. One bottom plow-ok for shallow trench and throws dirt to one side for easier backfill than middlebuster someone mentioned (even more depth limited). If you want to spend the money on something to dig a trench with your tractor though- I'd go with the hoe and have a tree planter/pond digger/stump mover/gin pole............and on and on. If you scalp the trench 3"deep with 12" bucket and deposit sod on one side for relaying, then dirt on other, quite nice results can be had with hoe.

We have a Bradco 612 at work. We get a good amount of use out of it (i.e: once or twice a month). We usually trench for installing 4" black plastic perf. pipe, so that usually means we are trenching through heavy, wet, clay. We also dig up quite a bit of rock with it too, since everything was backfilled. It sure beats digging by hand, and usually the trench itself needs very little clean out. Cleaning up the soil now on the surface takes some work, but if you were filling the trench right back in, its easy.
We use the trencher on a 45 hp NH with a creeper range. Set it on 1st gear creeper, set the hand throttle a little above idle, and the trench moves right along. There are two hydraulic lines for the cylinder, as it has power up and down.
