And you brought a tractor home with you so you can post pics for us right?:)

Nope, he didnt have one in stock. He did say I could buy it now, but I told him to call me when it comes in. I think the price was pretty high, based on what another member paid for same model.

Not sure what I will do, but I dont like to "work on people". Im the type of guy who likes a straight deal. Dont throw out a high figure and do back flips and high fives when I walk out the door with sucker written on my back. I cannot stand it when I go to buy something and they say, but we will beat anybodys price(as an example, this guy didnt say that or imply it). I dont like to play games and see no reason for the honest business to give me a good price up front, then go back to the guy who tried to rip me off so he can match it or beat it by a few bucks and get the sale. Im not saying or implying this place is trying to rip me off, I just dont know if its a good price or not. Its the first dealer I went to, I have no idea.

Where does the other member live that got a lower price? They claim the price for the same tractor will be cheaper down south.

The John Deere is the only tractor that has incentives until January 31, and the rest ended December 31st, to the best of my knowledge. Also, New Holland is the only 2013 tractor that is being built that has a tier 3 engine, as far as I know. I agree with GManBart on he first quarter incentives being extended.

Well Ive made it this far without foolishly just buying this or that tractor and along the way my likes have changed considerably. Its Dec 31 and Im planning to go to my first dealer today (if they are open). When do the 2013 models show up(or have they already?) and do dealers have incentive plans for the 2012 models? Im currently leaning hard towards the LS J2030H and right now their "deal" is a free loader program that ends today. Is there any rush to buy today, or can I expect to see a better deal in the next week or two?
thanks,
Ken
ps Ill be out shoveling the 100yd gravel driveway by hand "again", getting hard not to pull the trigger on a tractor.

Although I understand your way of thinking on this I'm not in the same camp. I never pay what they ask IF I feel its on the high side. My thoughts are to sit down and have negotiations with them. I tell them how I see it " I want a tractor and your main goal is to maximize your profit while my goal is to maximize savings" we always come to an agreement where we both win
You need to ALWAYS do your homework first though. Google and forums like this is your friend.

He lives in PA. Here is his post, looks like he bought it around Dec 1 of this year. Here is a portion of his post.
I recently purchased a J2030H and thought I'd post because there weren't alot of posts on here about them. FEL, 60 inch Mid-mount mower and loaded R4 tires for $15,800 delievered. I internet and phone priced the tractor at dealers from NY to PA to NC and finally bought it at a dealer in PA. My dealer wasn't the absolute cheapest for the tractor, but he was within a few hundred dollars when you figured in the cost of delivery.
My dealer qouted me:
$13,300 for tractor and fel
$2,600 for demo model mmm.
$150 for loaded tires.
$16,050 and that dont include my state tax of 6% yet. According to google PA also has a 6% sales tax so $17,013
This is why I feal I was qouted a bit high, since Im getting a deal on a demo mower(his mowere was $3,300) and yet still paying $1,213 more then the other guy. If it were a few hundred dollars, I wouldnt be bringing it up. He also noted he didnt get the cheapest deal he found, but that his dealer was within a few hundred after you factored in shipping.

Some dealers will load tires for free if you purchase a new tractor. Mine would have also, but I didn't want CACI as it's corrosive. I paid extra for Rimguard at another dealer, and I took the tires off the tractor and transported them myself. The metal valve stems that are required when using Rimguard were extra.

Some dealers appear to be able to sell for a little less because they move more equipment, thus quantity versus price. Sometimes it's who ya know also.........I've gotten good deals in the past because someone there knew my Father, Uncle, or one of my friends.

There are a lot of variables to every dealership that factor into pricing. I wouldn't let the 1,000 dollar difference inhibit my purchase, just because someone else got a better deal 400 miles away in a different state, with a different dealer.

EDIT: I paid 13,750 for my Massey, with FEL and 60 inch MMM. Others on here paid substantially less for the same tractor.

also rember the dealer has shipping cost from ls to deal with, ls is located in NC so should be cheaper to buy there than in PA
