I've been considering buying an ultrasonic mouse repeller. My camper van received some damage from the rodents last winter and I want to discourage them.
So far I've gotten three of them but there's at least one more that won't take my sticky or spring traps. I don't know if he's tasted the poison bait that I put out. Maybe ultrasonics would drive him out.

My experience is that it reduces the number of mice the traps catch. Lots fewer mouse nests found, too. I think they move in, then move out.

Before repellers, we were often catching several a day, now, about 2-4 a month.

The problem those is that when you see a mouse in the area of the repeller YOU are left wondering "Is that mouse deaf, or is the repeller broken".

I tried some a few years ago. Saw no difference so I would say no, but others have had different mileage.

Didn't work for me. I'm satisfied with old fashion spring traps always set (peanut butter) and poison bait out (new pack every 2-4 weeks).

We've been using a couple of the Black&Decker noise makers sold at Home Depot, etc., in our shop building for 2 years now. They make a pretty loud racket but have kept the critters out so far. Also seem to deter cockroaches from the place, but don't do a darn thing for spiders or ants.

I can't say for certain the noise makers are the solution since the building is pretty tight anyhow, but if the building doesn't have mice to begin with, the noise may make it an uninviting place for them to explore. I don't think any one thing keeps all rodents out, except maybe a good feline. If you can't do that, a combination of tactics is probably most effective.

We did not have good luck trying and ultrasonic to keep mice out of our 2006 Honda CRV.

What I found most effective was the Tin Cat live mousetrap with cheese as bait. Google "tin cat trap" to find it. But here is one link to it:

Getting Rid Of Mice! Victor® TIN CAT® Mouse Trap, Model M310

We put a couple in the car and would normally catch 3 mice in each trap over night and at times had up to 6. It got so we could tell how many there were before opening the trap.

We have a good mouser cat. But he couldn't keep up. I called the Honda dealer. They were very familiar with the problem and screened in two (or three?) vents for a cost of $300!

I don't think we have so many mice now but I have seen a few scurrying around the garage. So I guess it is time to put out a couple of traps again.

Our cat is 16 years old and we don't have a problem with mice around the house. But he can't get them all and he is slowing down.

One of cats walked by me tonight in the house tonight with a mouse in it's mouth. I wondered why my four cats have been staking out in front the of cooker for the last few days.

My German Shepard is a good mouser too.

Nothing beats a cat though. :)

We have three of them through our house and i can say without a doubt they don't work at all. Atleast the onse we bought. My cat is still on the job though. She has caught countless mice. four bats. one frog and one chipmonk so far . )My 7yr old is keeping a running talley. lol..)

Clint S,

That trap is pretty slick. I might give it a try in my garage but if i put that out in my garden the only thing it will catch with peanut butter on it is a black bear and I don't think Wifey would like that.

No, they do not work. At best, they might create a short term effect, but like all the other sound based repellents, the critters get used to it and ignore it.

Nope don't work. Tried them all over the place. Glue traps, and snap traps work best for me.

NO they don't, I've witnessed mice go about their business right under one.

Stupid to even think it. But heck! Today's NEWS suggests such "sounds" will disrupt embassy workers in Cuba.
