Do you fill your tractor after every use?

"When yours does stop flowing do you have the option of dumping it or is it an absorbtion type that once full you have to change filter."

You have to change the filter.. so I keep a spare on hand. I had my 300 gallon tank filled this spring.. put some conditioner in it.. no problems w/ water yet. The storage tank w/ the 12v fuel pump has made fueling a non-chore.. I used 2 five gallon containers before.

To answer the subject question.. No.. I'm sometimes sputtering as I head to refuel.

I do not fill after every use, I fill up as needed. Have not had any problems. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

How many of you TBN'rs refill your tank after every use please respond if only to say I do or I don't.
I do, but not to avoid condensation. I fill up after every use because;

1. After working, I am already going to change my clothes anyway, so if I splash any fuel on myself, it's no big deal.
2. I want to start the tractor and begin working, not have to fill the tank first.

Mike,

I'd add a 3rd reason to your list.

3. I don't want to take the chance of forgetting and running out in the middle of a job.

I fall into the "yes I fill up when done" catagory. Brutus has either a 20 or 25 gal tank (I forget) and I don't have a storage tank, so I'm forced to fill up several 5 gal cans every so often at the co-op.

I've learned the hard way that I do NOT want to get out there to do some work, have 1/4 tank of fuel and have all my refill cans ALSO empty /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I want to get going.

So by keeping tank full, I know (if I also keep refill cans full) that I can use that entire tank and get one refill if I need to in same day. (hardly ever happens, but I've come closer than I'd care to admit.)

My tractor has a 10 gallon tank, I refill when I get down to half a tank and always filter with Mr Funnel and add a conditioner. I burn about 70 - 80 gallons of fuel a year and buy my diesel at a busy truck stop, 5-10 gallons at a time.

I fill my tank when it needs it. It may sit for several days or even a couple of weeks with 1/2 tank or less. Never any problems in 17 years. The problem has to be your fuel supply not your tractor tank.

I have had problems with my boat in the spring and fall it gets condensation in the tank and is kind of hard to start after that.

One time, I had to disconnect the fuel pump and pump about a pint of water out.

Tractor: no problems.

My CK20 has a metal tank. I use a Mr. Funnel every time. I didn't fill it every time, and started to have a little water in the collection bowl, so I started filling up every time, and no more water in the bowl. With our drastic, at times, weather changes here, there is more opportunity for condensation problems with a metal tank. John
