Here's the good the bad and the ugly. 
I failed plasma cutting, shield set too dark, tried to find my way blind (never a good idea..) and wasn't able to get quite thru. Buggered up section will get milled out for wrench space. Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can mill the edge round, and recess the top to fit the inside of the chuck back.
